HEAD STOCKMAN – CATTLE STATION
Harts Range, Northern Territory
An established large-scale cattle station located in the Harts Range region of the Northern Territory is seeking an experienced Head Stockman to join its permanent station team.
This is a hands-on position involving the day-to-day care, handling and movement of beef cattle, together with general station operations, infrastructure maintenance and machinery work.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Station Manager and other station employees to ensure cattle operations are carried out safely, efficiently and to a high animal welfare standard.
A current First Aid Certificate and National Police Check will be required.
Skills and Experience
Applicants should have:
- substantial practical experience working with beef cattle, preferably within northern Australian cattle station operations;
- strong cattle mustering and livestock handling skills;
- practical experience in animal husbandry and cattle processing;
- experience operating motorbikes and station machinery;
- experience with fencing, cattle yards and general station maintenance;
- practical mechanical and machinery maintenance skills;
- welding experience highly regarded;
- experience with road trains and an MC Licence highly regarded;
- the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a remote cattle station environment; and a strong commitment to safe and ethical livestock handling and animal welfare

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per annum + superannuation, depending on skills and experience

Pay: $52,880.00 – $100,926.72 per year
