Role description
Dhelkaya Health is seeking an experienced and passionate Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to lead the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred healthcare services at Tarrengower Women's Prison.
As a key clinical leader, you will foster a culture of excellence, professionalism, and continuous improvement while ensuring healthcare services are delivered to a standard equivalent to that available in the broader public health system. You will provide strong leadership, role modelling, and support to a multidisciplinary team, overseeing the coordination of care, workforce management, quality improvement initiatives, resource allocation, and service development.

Tarrengower Women's Prison is a minimum-security correctional facility located in Victoria's Loddon Mallee region. Operated by Corrections Victoria, Tarrengower specialises in preparing women for their return to the community through education, employment, and rehabilitation programs.

Key Responsibilities
As Nurse Unit Manager, you will:

Lead and support a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality care.

Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of the health service.

Promote evidence-based practice and maintain clinical governance standards.

Manage staffing, workforce planning, and resource allocation.

Drive quality improvement, risk management, and service development initiatives.

Support and mentor staff through education, supervision, and professional development opportunities.

Advocate for patients and ensure coordinated, person-centred care.

Develop strong relationships with Corrections Victoria, external providers, and community services.

Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation and reporting.
