Position Descriptor:
The Aboriginal Community Education Officer (ACEO) and Aboriginal Secondary Education Transition Officer (ASETO) develop partnerships, provides quality advice and leadership in supporting educators to be inclusive of the social, wellbeing and learning needs of Aboriginal children and students by contributing to the educational outcomes of Aboriginal students through working in collaboration with all relevant service providers.
The ACEO and ASETO will:
build effective and positive relationships, partnerships and participation between the school and families of Aboriginal students in decision-making and in the education of their children
support education and employment, higher education and training pathways for Aboriginal students
contribute to the development and implementation of programs that support Aboriginal student identity, culture, language, lifestyles, history and customs.
Please note the salary amount may differ from that advertised. Salary is dependent upon your current employment status with the Department for Education, tenure and hours per week. The salary stated is based on an employee working 52 weeks per annum, full time equivalent. The successful applicant will be employed under the appropriate mode of employment.
