The ED features:

7 Acute Bays, including 1 Isolation Room

1 Treatment Room with Plaster Trap

2 Resuscitation Rooms

4 Fast Track Bays with comfortable recliners

3 Dedicated Paediatric Bays
All acute, paediatric and resus bays are equipped with Philips Monitoring, centrally displayed at the main staff station and overviewed at the paediatric station for enhanced visibility and response.
In addition, the department includes 18 Short Stay Unit (SSU) beds, supporting seamless transitions from emergency care to observation and recovery.

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join our brand-new Emergency Department. The ANUM will also work within the Short Stay Unit (SSU) when required, facilitating efficient flow of patients from ED and supporting the SSU team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Registered Nurse with proven leadership skills to contribute to the delivery of outstanding patient outcomes, be involved in a brand-new emergency service, positively impact culture and grow their leadership abilities with Ramsay Healthcare.
As an ANUM, you will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to oversee daily operations, provide clinical leadership, and ensure the delivery of safe and high-quality care within the ED. You will play a key role in:

Team development, mentorship and maintaining a positive workplace culture.

Providing clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff within the Emergency Department.

Assisting with the orientation, training and administration associated with the opening of the new Emergency Department.

Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in the efficient and effective management of the ED.

Working with the multidisciplinary team to facilitate care that is person centred, safe and timely.

Coordinating patient flow and resource allocation to optimise patient care.

Acting as a clinical resource, providing expert advice and support to the team.

Participating in quality improvement initiatives and risk management activities.

Assisting with staff rostering, performance management, and professional development.

Ensuring the adherence to Ramsay Health Care policies, procedures, and accreditation standards.

Fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth amongst the team.
About You
While leadership or management experience is desirable, this role will also suit an experienced Registered Nurse looking to step up into a leadership position.
You will also demonstrate:
- Current AHPRA registration.

Post-graduate qualification in Emergency Nursing / Critical care (or working towards)

Experience in an Emergency Department setting, with prior leadership experience is desirable.

Excellent clinical assessment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities.

A commitment to patient-centred care and continuous quality improvement.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and manage challenging situations.

Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic clinical environment.

Flexibility to work a 7-day rotating roster

Paediatric experience desirable, but not essential
