About Us
Join HumeLink, one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, delivering approximately 365 kilometres of new 500kV transmission lines that will strengthen the NSW electricity network and connect more renewable energy to homes and businesses. As part of Transgrid's Major Projects team, you'll help deliver nationally significant infrastructure that will power Australia's clean energy future for generations to come.
About the Role
As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the safe delivery of the HumeLink project by providing independent health and safety assurance across active construction work fronts. Working closely with project teams, contractors and delivery partners, you'll verify critical risk controls, monitor contractor compliance, identify emerging risks and provide practical, evidence-based advice that supports safe, compliant and successful project delivery. This role is critical to ensuring Transgrid's health and safety standards are consistently applied throughout the construction phase of one of Australia's most significant energy infrastructure projects.
This position can be based in either Newcastle or Wagga Wagga. Regular travel will be required throughout the HumeLink project corridor, including Goulburn, Yass and other regional project locations, undertaking field-based assurance activities and visiting active construction sites.
About You
We're looking for a collaborative health and safety professional who enjoys working in the field and partnering with project teams to create safer workplaces. You will bring:
- Experience in health and safety, assurance or compliance within construction, utilities or major infrastructure environments.
- A strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management principles and contractor assurance processes.
- The ability to identify risks, provide practical solutions and influence positive safety outcomes across multiple project sites.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with contractors, project teams and delivery partners.
- Relevant qualifications in Work Health and Safety (or a related discipline), together with a current driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly across the HumeLink project corridor.
