Educational Therapist – Literacy Focus

Healthy Young Minds is a paediatric allied health clinic in Bundoora supporting children and young people with learning, developmental and neurodivergent profiles.
We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic and skilled Educational Therapist with a strong literacy focus to join our growing team for 1–2 days per week.
About the role
You will provide individual educational therapy to primary and secondary school-aged children who may experience:
- Dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties
- Reading and spelling difficulties
- Written expression difficulties
- ADHD and executive functioning challenges
- Autism and other neurodevelopmental differences
- General literacy and learning difficulties
Sessions are delivered one-to-one in our Bundoora clinic, with programs tailored to each child's individual learning profile.
What we're looking for
We would love to hear from someone who:
- Has a teaching qualification, ideally with current or previous VIT registration
- Has experience supporting children with literacy and learning difficulties
- Has a strong understanding of evidence-based reading, spelling and written-language intervention
- Understands structured literacy and explicit teaching approaches
- Is confident working with neurodivergent children
- Can build positive, encouraging relationships with children and families
- Is organised and able to maintain clear session notes and intervention plans
Experience with programs or approaches such as SPELL-Links, structured literacy, phonological awareness, morphology, explicit spelling instruction and evidence-based writing intervention would be highly regarded. Training and support can also be provided in our clinic programs.
