About the Role
Combine your passion for early childhood development with active team leadership! In this role, you will lead our early years movement programs, design age-appropriate physical literacy sessions, and nurture our team of junior coaches to help them perform at their absolute best.
While gymnastics experience is a great bonus, it is strictly not essential—we teach all the technical skills. Your background in early learning, natural ability to mentor people, and confidence connecting with parents are what make you the right fit.
Work Schedule
- Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (open to finding the right fit for the right person). Full Time hours can be condensed to 4 days, if that is your preference
- Days: Includes Saturdays as a key operational day, with fixed mid-week day off (either Tuesday or Thursday).
Key Responsibilities
On the Floor (Coaching & Shift Leadership)
- Lead Early Years Classes: Run energetic, play-based movement sessions for our Under 5s, Open Kindy Gym, and Preschool programs.
- Mentor Floor Coaches: Lead afternoon shifts, guiding junior coaches in real time to build their confidence and coaching skills.
- Parent Engagement: Serve as the friendly, go-to face on the floor for parents and caregivers.
Off the Floor (Admin & Planning – 9.75 hrs/week)
- Program Design: Plan and refresh engaging, age-appropriate session plans for our Under 5s curriculum.
- Daily Operations: Manage rotation schedules, waitlists, and roster cover.
- Team & Community: Drive staff culture initiatives and create engaging community posts for our Facebook page.
What We Are Looking For
- A background in Early Childhood Education (Diploma, Degree, or equivalent experience with 0–5-year-olds).
- OR Experience with gymnastics; an advanced coach with management experience
- A natural coach and mentor who enjoys lifting others up with encouraging, constructive feedback.
- Clear, warm communication skills with both kids and parents.
- Reliability and readiness to make Saturdays a core part of your week.
