ASSISTANT VENUE MANAGER — SUNNYBOY
Sunnyboy is looking for someone pretty special to join our little corner of Mermaid Beach.
We’re a beachfront neighbourhood café on Hedges Ave, surrounded by the kind of things that make this place feel like home — locals galore, morning walkers, sandy feet, familiar faces, dogs lining up for their puppachinos and regulars who know exactly where they like to sit.
Sunnyboy is still young, but it already feels like it belongs here.
We’re looking for an Assistant Venue Manager who loves hospitality, loves people and understands that running a great venue is about much more than getting through a busy service.
It’s noticing the regular walking around the corner. Remembering a name. Helping the team before they have to ask. Making someone’s morning better without making a big deal about it.
You’ll work alongside our Venue Manager to help lead the floor, develop the team, protect the culture and keep Sunnyboy feeling like Sunnyboy as we continue to grow.
We’d love someone with strong FOH experience, some leadership behind them or a real readiness to step into it, and the ability to stay calm when our little corner gets very busy.
Most importantly, we want someone who genuinely cares about creating a place where locals feel at home.
And yes, the office does happen to be about 30 metres from Mermaid Beach.
