About the Role
As the Day Program Coordinator, you will take an active role in running the day program, facilitating classes, supporting participants and helping grow the service.
This is not a desk-based coordination role. You will be expected to be actively involved with participants and comfortable providing hands-on assistance when required.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Planning and running classes, activities and day programs
- Creating new and engaging activities based on participant interests, abilities and NDIS goals
- Encouraging participants to get involved, socialise, learn new skills and build confidence
- Coordinating daily activities and ensuring programs run smoothly
- Supervising and supporting facilitators and Support Workers
- Helping market and promote our Capacity Building Hub
- Creating ideas for social media content, flyers, promotions, events and community engagement
- Actively helping attract new participants and increase enrolments
- Following up enquiries and prospective participants
- Contacting and building relationships with Support Coordinators, families, schools, community organisations and other referral partners
- Assisting with tours, open days and promotional events
- Managing participant enquiries, enrolments and onboarding
- Maintaining positive relationships with existing participants and families
- Monitoring attendance, participant progress and program outcomes
- Picking up and dropping off participants when required
- Transporting participants to community activities, appointments and excursions when required
- Providing personal care and toileting assistance when required
- Assisting participants with changing clothing, hygiene and continence care following bowel or bladder accidents while maintaining their dignity and privacy
- Supporting participants if they become unwell or experience an accident, fall or injury
- Following individual care plans, behaviour support plans, risk assessments and relevant incident procedures
What We’re Looking For
We want someone who is energetic, confident, compassionate and full of ideas.
The successful person should be comfortable wearing different hats throughout the day — you may be running a cooking class in the morning, speaking with a Support Coordinator about a referral, creating content to promote the program, taking participants on an outing and providing hands-on participant support when needed.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience in disability support, community services, education, recreation or program coordination
- Confidence running group classes and activities
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- A friendly and engaging personality
- Confidence speaking with potential participants, families and referral partners
- An interest in marketing, social media and growing services
- Creativity and the ability to develop new program ideas
- Strong organisation and time-management skills
- Confidence providing hands-on disability and personal care support
- The ability to work independently and take initiative
- A proactive approach to building participant numbers and growing the day program
- A valid driver licence and willingness to transport participants when required
Why Join Assigned Guardian Angels?
