The Netball World Cup Sydney 2027 is set to be one of the world's premier sporting events, bringing together the best netball nations and athletes on the global stage.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, Marketing & Communications, you will develop and execute the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027 social media strategy, creating engaging content across all social platforms and driving audience growth, engagement and ticket sales.
You will lead the creation of engaging video, photography and graphic content across social and digital platforms, capturing the excitement of the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027 journey through real-time coverage of events, athlete stories, and key tournament moments. Working across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and emerging channels, you'll develop and execute an innovative social media strategy that drives audience growth, fan engagement, and ticket sales.
Collaborating with influencers, athletes, partners and internal stakeholders, you will identify compelling storytelling opportunities while ensuring all content aligns with the tournament's brand and voice. Using data, insights and emerging trends, you will optimise performance, build thriving online communities and deliver world-class digital experiences in a fast-paced major event environment.
About You
You are a creative storyteller who understands how to connect with audiences through engaging content and emerging digital trends. You have:

Proven experience in social media management, content production or digital marketing, ideally in sport, entertainment or live events
- Strong video and editing capabilities (Adobe Premiere Pro or similar)
- Experience with photography and creative production tools
- Basic skills in graphic design (Photoshop, Canva or similar)
- Deep knowledge of social media platforms, trends and analytics
- Exceptional storytelling, communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

Additional Information
This is a full-time role, based at Sydney Olympic Park, on a fixed-term basis through to September 2027. Given the unique nature of the sports industry, and the domestic & global reach of our organisation, travelling and working outside of LOC HQ and traditional office hours may be required from time to time. Our teams work flexibly, and we encourage the successful applicant to discuss flexible working options with their new Manager. The Netball World Cup Sydney 2027 (NWC) is the pinnacle tournament for the sport and occurs every four years. It brings the top 16 teams in the world together over 12 days, with teams competing across pool stages and finals to be crowned World Champion. In 2027, the NWC will be held in Sydney, Australia from 25 August to 5 September.
