We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Asset Engineer to provide asset management support and technical leadership within our Strategic Asset Management team, with a focus on our Water Network Assets.
Success in this role will see you develop and support asset management strategies, maintenance programs, capital renewals programs and technical decision-making across critical water network infrastructure. This may include assets such as pipelines, valves, pressure systems, pump stations, storage infrastructure and other water distribution network assets that support safe, reliable and efficient water services for our customers and communities.
You’ll collaborate closely with internal and external teams to improve asset performance across the full lifecycle. Thinking critically and strategically about asset condition, design, operation, risk, maintenance priorities and renewal needs, you will play an important role in supporting reliable service delivery, effective investment decisions and long-term asset sustainability.
Adept at problem solving, this key role will identify and implement improvements to current processes and practices, drawing on industry knowledge, technical expertise and strong stakeholder relationships to support innovation, operational resilience and best-for-business outcomes.
This is a 12 month role, engaged via a 3rd party agency, to backfill a secondment.
As the Senior Asset Engineer, you will be courageous, practical and knowledgeable, bringing sound technical judgement and an innovative approach to improving water network asset performance.
With excellent communication skills, you will build strong relationships with partners, operational teams and stakeholders to deliver common goals in asset management. You will be confident working across cross-functional teams, translating technical information into clear recommendations and influencing outcomes within your area of specialisation.
Your strong attention to detail and organisational skills will enable you to support multiple programs and priorities. Self-motivated and able to work autonomously, your practical experience will be underpinned by relevant engineering qualifications, ideally in civil, mechanical or a related discipline, together with experience in infrastructure, utilities, water networks or asset management environments.
