Join our team as a Senior Civil Designer
As a senior member of our Civil Design team, you'll take the lead on the development and delivery of complex civil engineering designs that help shape the future of Redland City. Working closely with asset owners and stakeholders, you'll guide projects through every stage of the design lifecycle, from concept and preliminary design through to final delivery, while providing technical leadership, mentoring and expert advice to fellow designers.
Your responsibilities will include:
Lead complex designs - Deliver civil engineering designs, estimates, layouts and specifications from concept to final design.
Technical excellence - Develop innovative, safe and cost-effective solutions that align with industry standards and best practice.
Project delivery - Coordinate multiple design projects to achieve quality outcomes, on time and within budget.
Design leadership - Provide technical oversight, mentoring and support to fellow Civil Designers and project team members.
Problem solving - Resolve complex design challenges and identify opportunities to improve project outcomes and performance.
Stakeholder collaboration - Work closely with asset owners, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Contractor management - Oversee and review the work of external design consultants where required.
Continuous improvement - Contribute to the development of design processes, procedures and best practice across the team.
Skills and experience:
Extensive experience delivering complex civil engineering designs, plans and estimates.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and civil design software, including 12d and PC Drain.
Experience designing civil infrastructure such as roads, intersections, drainage and related assets.
Strong understanding of relevant engineering standards, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated experience in civil design project delivery, balancing timelines, budgets and competing priorities.
Proven ability to provide leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to other designers or project team members.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Advanced time management and organisational skills, with a track record of meeting project deadlines.

Eligibility:
- You'll hold a C Class Drivers Licence
- You'll have an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or other tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline;
