As a Senior Remote Expert Center (REC) Engineer specializing in Siemens PCS 7, you will provide advanced remote technical support to customers across the Pacific region. Your day will involve monitoring system health, troubleshooting complex control system issues, supporting lifecycle service activities, and collaborating with customers and internal experts to ensure reliable plant operations.
You will act as a trusted advisor for PCS 7 customers, helping them maximize system availability, improve operational performance, and address technical challenges through proactive and reactive support services.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Act as a key point of contact for the Hotline service, offering expert-level guidance to clients on PCS 7 systems with optional of Omnivise T3000
- Provide expert remote and on-site technical support for Siemens PCS 7 DCS, diagnosing and resolving software, hardware, and network issues within agreed service levels.
- Analyze system alarms, diagnostics, and performance data to identify potential issues early and recommend preventive actions that support system reliability and cybersecurity.
- Support lifecycle activities such as upgrades, migrations, patch management, backups, and health checks, along with root cause analysis for recurring issues.
- Build trusted relationships with customers through clear communication of technical findings and resolution plans, and contribute to service review meetings and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and knowledge articles, contributing to knowledge-sharing and best-practice development within the Remote Expert Center.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation, Instrumentation, or equivalent, with 8–12 years of experience in Siemens PCS 7 engineering, support, commissioning, troubleshooting, or lifecycle management, ideally within process industries or power generation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Siemens PCS 7 Engineering and system administration, including expert-level knowledge of the Engineering Station (ES) and Operator Station (OS); PCS 7 or equivalent Siemens automation certifications would be an advantage.
- Working knowledge of SIMATIC S7 PLC platforms and Industrial Ethernet/communication architectures, with a CCNA or equivalent industrial networking certification considered a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex PCS 7 issues in critical plant environments, including lifecycle activities such as upgrades, migrations, patch management, and root cause analysis.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and support customers remotely in a 24/7 service environment when required; knowledge of Siemens Omnivise T3000 and an ISA/IEC 62443 certification would be an added advantage.
- A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to stay composed under pressure, collaborate across global support teams, and maintain a continuous learning approach to technical excellence.
