The Child Protection Liaison Unit consists of experienced and skilled clinicians who offer consultation and support to Queensland Health staff in effectively addressing identified child protection concerns while working in partnership with key agencies and partners to improve the outcomes and lives of at-risk children, youth, and families/caregivers.
About you:
In your new role you will:
Implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.
Undertake comprehensive psychosocial assessments, including crisis assessments, of families where children are identified to be at risk of/subject to child abuse and neglect.
Provide comprehensive advice and interventions, incorporating contemporary Social Work practice principles, including trauma informed practice, Child Aware principles and Convention on Rights of Child and Child Protection legislation.
Independently identify and plan responses to complex child protection issues in partnership with CHHHS and other government and non-government service providers, incorporating internal CHHHS resources and external government and non-government agencies.
Utilise independent professional judgement in applying Queensland Health policy and legislative requirements under the Child Protection Act 1999, Public Health Act 2005 for child protection.
Liaise with local and district level Department of Child Safety Offices, SCAN teams across the state, Queensland Police Service, and other government and non-government entities to facilitate sharing of relevant child protection information, develop partnerships, and coordinate responses to child protection issues.
