About us:
Psychology Services forms part of Allied Health Services that report to the Director of Allied Health operationally and the Executive Director of Allied Health for professional governance. Allied Health professionals operate in a variety of clinical and service environments across the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS). Allied Health professionals operating within these environments provide assessment and intervention utilising a variety of service models including clinical service teams, discipline specific delivery, primary health care, multidisciplinary teams and collaborative practice.
Our values were developed by our staff, patients and community. They guide our work and actions every day. Our staff are part of the community we serve. We believe that we can improve health outcomes by involving our community in the planning and evaluation of their local health services.
About your role:
In this position you will.....
Provide high level psychological assessment, consultation and brief interventions for patients.
Show a high level of understanding of the environment in which clinical decisions are made to influence health outcomes and ensure that service initiatives are integrated into clinical practice, work unit guidelines and service procedures.
Contribute to effective team functioning and coordination of patient care through development of cooperative and effective working relationships, active participation in team meetings and interdisciplinary consultations, and provision of education regarding clinical and health psychology areas to other team members.
