What you'll be doing
To deliver contemporary, comprehensive Specialist General Medicine services at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and, where required, across associated facilities to ensure optimal patient outcomes and support a healthier community through high‑quality care.
The role provides strong clinical leadership, actively contributes to quality improvement initiatives, and delivers training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines, promoting safe clinical practice and a high‑quality learning environment.
As the VMO in General Medicine, you will:

Deliver contemporary, comprehensive inpatient and consultative General Medicine services

Provide strong clinical leadership within the department and across multidisciplinary teams

Supervise, mentor and educate junior medical staff and trainees
-
Contribute to safe, patient‑centred care and high‑quality clinical decision‑making
-
Participate in quality improvement, audit, risk management and clinical governance activities
-
Support effective communication with patients, families and clinicians
-
Participate in the General Medicine on‑call roster
-
Uphold NSW Health and MLHD policies, procedures and CORE values
This role is central to advancing the standard of care and strengthening General Medicine services across the District.
