The Position
Position: In Home Care Coordinator – NSW
Employment Type: Part-Time Fixed Term – 12 months, subject to grant funding
Commencement: October 2026
Working Days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Location: NSW – Northern Rivers and Tweed regions
Award: SCHADS Social and Community Services Level 3.4 – $41.45 per hour / Level 4.1 – $44.58 per hour, plus 12% superannuation
Reports to: In Home Care Manager
About NRCS
Northern Rivers Children’s Services is a community-focused organisation committed to supporting children and families through quality early childhood education and care. Our In Home Care program provides flexible education and care for families who are unable to access other forms of approved early childhood education and care. We are seeking an experienced and passionate In Home Care Coordinator to join our NSW team.
About the Role
The NSW In Home Care Coordinator is an important support role within our service, working closely with the In Home Care Manager, educators and families to promote safe, inclusive and high-quality education and care. The role is suited to an experienced Early Childhood professional who enjoys mentoring educators, building positive relationships with families and supporting quality practice. The Coordinator will provide regular educator support and visits, monitor compliance and documentation, support risk management and contribute to continuous improvement across the NSW service.
The position also includes Educational Leader responsibilities, supporting educators with educational programming, reflective practice and the implementation of the EYLF and MTOP within the home environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesEducator Support and Mentoring
- Conduct regular educator visits across the NSW service region.
- Provide mentoring, guidance and professional support to educators.
- Support educators to strengthen their practice and confidence.
- Encourage reflective practice and ongoing professional development.
- Support educators with the implementation of the EYLF and MTOP.
- Identify areas where educators may benefit from additional guidance, professional learning or support.
Program Leader Responsibilities
- Support educators to develop and implement meaningful educational programs.
- Promote quality learning experiences that reflect children's interests, strengths and individual needs.
- Support educators with observations, planning, documentation and reflection.
- Encourage educators to effectively implement the approved learning frameworks within the home environment.
- Support consistency and quality in educational practice across the NSW educator network.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives relating to educational practice.
Compliance and Quality
- Support educators to meet relevant NSW regulatory, legislative and organisational requirements.
- Monitor educator documentation and required monthly evidence.
- Check that qualifications, training, certificates and other compliance requirements remain current.
- Identify areas of compliance risk and work collaboratively with educators to address them.
- Maintain accurate records using organisational systems.
- Support the In Home Care Manager with compliance monitoring and quality assurance activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the service.
Child Safety and Risk Management
- Promote a strong child-safe culture across the NSW In Home Care service.
- Support educators to understand and implement their child protection responsibilities.
- Conduct home safety checks as part of educator visits.
- Support educators with risk assessments relating to transport, excursions, overnight care, safe sleep and other non-routine care arrangements.
- Identify and escalate safety, child wellbeing or compliance concerns to the In Home Care Manager.
- Support educators to appropriately complete incident, injury, trauma and illness documentation.
- Promote safe supervision and risk management practices within children's home environments.
Inclusion and Disability
- Promote inclusive practices that support every child to participate meaningfully in education and care.
- Support educators to recognise and respond to children's individual strengths, abilities, interests and support needs.
- Support educators to identify barriers to participation and consider appropriate reasonable adjustments.
- Support educators to work collaboratively with families and relevant professionals involved in a child's education, development and wellbeing.
- Promote practices consistent with the Disability Standards for Education, including the rights of children with disability to participate in education on the same basis as children without disability.
- Support educators to provide respectful, strengths-based and child-centred experiences for children with disability and additional needs.
Family Engagement
- Build positive and professional relationships with families.
- Respond appropriately to family questions and concerns.
- Support effective communication between families and educators.
- Liaise with the In Home Care Manager regarding matters requiring additional support or escalation.
- Promote respectful and collaborative relationships that support positive outcomes for children.
Operational Support
- Participate in weekly Teams meetings with the In Home Care Manager.
- Provide updates regarding educator support, compliance, risks, incidents and operational matters.
- Contribute to policy review and continuous improvement.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate records.
- Support the Manager with operational matters affecting the NSW service.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the In Home Care Manager or CEO.

Essential Requirements
- Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care.
- Current NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- Current Police Check.
- Current child protection training.
- Foundation Training
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification.
- Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to travel throughout the NSW service region.
- Strong understanding of early childhood practice and regulatory requirements.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in In Home Care or another home-based education and care environment.
- Experience mentoring educators or early childhood professionals.
- Experience in compliance, quality assurance or regulatory environments.
- Experience supporting children with disability or additional needs.
- Understanding of inclusive practice and reasonable adjustments.
- Understanding of the Disability Standards for Education.
- Experience working collaboratively with families and other professionals.
- Experience with educational programming and documentation.
- Knowledge of ComplyCare or similar compliance systems.
