About the Business
Yallingup Gugelhupf is an established food and hospitality business providing quality pastries, baked goods and related food products to its customers. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Pastry Cook to join our kitchen team.
About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and producing a range of pastries, cakes, desserts and other baked products in accordance with the business's recipes and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and weighing ingredients for pastry and baked products;
- Mixing, shaping, laminating and preparing doughs and pastry products;
- Preparing and baking cakes, pastries, desserts and other baked goods;
- Preparing fillings, creams, icings, sauces and other pastry components;
- Monitoring oven temperatures and baking times to ensure consistent product quality;
- Decorating and finishing pastry and dessert products;
- Checking the quality, freshness and presentation of ingredients and finished products;
- Maintaining appropriate food preparation, storage and hygiene standards;
- Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas;
- Following food safety, workplace health and safety and hygiene requirements;
- Assisting with stock rotation and monitoring ingredient requirements; and
- Working cooperatively with other kitchen staff to ensure production targets are met.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery, Baking, Pastry or a related field; and/or relevant industry experience;
- Previous experience working as a Pastry Cook or in a similar pastry/bakery environment;
- Good knowledge of pastry preparation and baking techniques;
- Ability to work efficiently in a commercial kitchen;
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality;
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements; and
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
