Tasks & responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook menu items in line with recipes, ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation standard
- Lead and supervise the daily workflow of the kitchen, delegating tasks and ensuring efficient operations
- Develop and adjust menus, ensuring dishes meet customer expectations and business requirements
- Estimate food and labour costs, and order food supplies in coordination with suppliers
- Monitor quality and consistency of dishes at all stages of preparation and service
- Supervise kitchen workflow and coordinate staff to maintain efficient operations
- Ensuring the highest possible food quality according to the health and safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Temperature and quality monitoring of all refrigerated and frozen products.
- Oversee the correct use of kitchen equipment and machinery such as ovens, grills, fryers, and bain-marie.
- Monitor storage, temperature, and quality of perishable items to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
- Garnish and present dishes with attention to detail and high-quality standards
- Implement daily kitchen routines and systems to ensure smooth and consistent operations.
- Coordinate with managers, and service staff to resolve food preparation or service issues.
Qualifications & experience
- We require industry experience and qualifications.
- Required to work unsupervised.
- Experience with Breakfast and lunch menus is required
