About the role
We’re now seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Technology team on a permanent, full-time basis. As Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a cross-functional engineering team delivering critical digital experiences across the Tennis Australia Participation ecosystem, including tennis.com.au, booking platforms, and associated systems that support and grow the game nationally.
Playing a key role in driving and supporting tennis participation, you’ll balance hands-on technical leadership with people leadership – ensuring delivery excellence, platform performance, and innovation across high-scale, customer-facing products.
In this role, you will be responsible for:

Leading and mentoring a cross-functional engineering squad, fostering a high-performing, agile culture aligned to strategic objectives

Driving the technical delivery of Participation platforms, contributing to architecture, coding standards, and continuous improvement

Owning and optimising CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps practices to ensure efficient and reliable delivery

Ensuring platform performance, scalability, and security across customer-facing systems, including incident management and response

Collaborating with internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver seamless, high-quality digital experiences that support participation growth
About you
To be successful in this role you will:

Bring proven experience leading engineering teams delivering high-scale, high-availability digital platforms

Have strong hands-on technical expertise across cloud platforms (Azure), CI/CD, DevOps practices, and modern software engineering (e.g. APIs, microservices, mobile or web apps)

Demonstrate experience contributing to architecture, code reviews, and technical decision-making in complex environments

Have deep understanding and/or hands-on experience with back-end technologies, such as Azure, .NET, and SQL/NoSQL databases

Have deep understanding and/or hands-on experience with front-end frameworks, such as React and ASP.NET

Bring experience with or exposure to Content Management Systems (CMS)

Have a track record of improving platform performance, reliability, and scalability under high traffic conditions

Be a collaborative leader who builds strong stakeholder relationships and drives alignment across product, engineering, and external partners

Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check

Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia
