Your new role:
As a Safety and Response Officer, you'll play an important role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, patients and visitors while responding to a wide range of safety and security situations. You'll work as part of a dedicated team to deliver professional, responsive services by:
Responding to incidents involving aggression, violence and emergency situations.
Using communication and de-escalation techniques to support safe outcomes.
Conducting internal and external security patrols.
Providing protection and support to staff during high-risk situations.
Assisting with emergency responses including fire alarms and facility lockdowns.
Monitoring, escorting and supporting patients under clinical direction when required.
Building positive relationships with staff, patients and visitors while delivering exceptional customer service.
About you:
We're looking for a resilient and professional individual who thrives in dynamic environments and is committed to keeping people safe, with:
Experience in security, protective services, law enforcement, corrections or a similar environment (healthcare experience highly regarded).
Strong communication, conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
A team-focused approach with excellent customer service skills.
Confidence preparing incident reports and following policies and procedures.
Physical capability to undertake operational duties, including shift work and patient restraint training.
A current C Class driver's licence and commitment to maintaining required vaccinations.

Staff employed in Corporate Services work within specific units providing a 24-hour support service to both clinical and non-clinical areas of the Logan Beaudesert Health Network. These work units are as follows:

Safety and Response Team
Logan Hospital Car Park
Volunteer Program
The functions assigned to the work units are diverse requiring the Manager of each work unit to work autonomously in their respective designated area of responsibility.
