We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Education Manager to oversee our education and training operations and support the continued quality and effectiveness of our VET programs.
About the Role
The Education Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing the College's education and training activities. The position will provide leadership to trainers and assessors, monitor the quality of training and assessment practices, support curriculum and resource development, and ensure educational operations are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and College policies.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, trainers, assessors, administration staff and other stakeholders to maintain high standards of educational delivery and student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and oversee the College's education and training programs and associated academic activities.
- Coordinate the implementation and ongoing delivery of vocational education and training programs across the College.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to trainers, assessors and relevant education staff.
- Monitor training and assessment practices to ensure consistency, quality and appropriate educational outcomes.
- Review training and assessment strategies, learning resources, assessment tools and related educational materials.
- Coordinate the development, review and continuous improvement of educational programs, learning resources and assessment practices.
- Monitor student participation, academic progress and educational outcomes and coordinate appropriate intervention and support where required.
- Ensure training and assessment activities are appropriately planned, scheduled, resourced and implemented.
- Participate in validation, moderation and review processes to maintain the quality and integrity of assessment practices.
- Monitor trainer and assessor performance, professional development and vocational competency requirements.
- Assist with recruitment, induction, supervision and performance management of education and training staff.
- Identify professional development requirements and coordinate appropriate development activities for training staff.
- Maintain appropriate academic and training records and ensure educational documentation is accurate and current.
- Work collaboratively with management to establish and monitor education-related policies, procedures and quality objectives.
- Analyse student feedback, trainer feedback, assessment outcomes and other relevant information to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to internal reviews and audits relating to training and assessment operations.
- Ensure educational practices comply with applicable VET, CRICOS and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with students, trainers, management and relevant external stakeholders regarding educational and academic matters.
- Provide regular reports to senior management regarding training quality, student progress, educational outcomes and areas requiring improvement.
- Promote a positive learning environment focused on quality education, student engagement and successful outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant will ideally possess:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Education, Training and Development, Management or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in managing or coordinating education and training programs.
- Experience supervising and supporting trainers and assessors.
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to RTO and CRICOS education providers.
- Experience with training and assessment strategies, assessment validation, educational resource development and continuous improvement processes.
- Strong organisational, leadership and staff management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of educational quality and compliance.
Salary: $125,000 to $140,000
