Since 1998, El Jannah has been serving up legendary charcoal chicken with heart. More than two decades on, our bold flavours, generous portions and energetic restaurants continue to create memorable experiences that guests love across Australia. Our network is growing fast and our people are the heart of everything we do. Our Corporate Business Managers are the operational backbone of our corporate restaurant portfolio, partnering closely with Restaurant Managers to drive performance, grow profitability, and make sure the El Jannah experience is delivered consistently every single day.
About the Role
This is a senior, field-based leadership role for someone who knows how to get the best out of restaurant teams, reads a P&L like a second language, and takes genuine pride in building people up. As a Corporate Business Manager, you'll oversee a portfolio of corporate El Jannah restaurants, working closely with the Regional Manager to drive operational efficiency, financial performance, and a guest-first culture across every site. You'll coach and develop Restaurant Managers, lead new restaurant openings from recruitment through to handover, and be the person your teams look to when they need direction, support, and accountability. If you love being in restaurants, developing leaders, and seeing the results of your work reflected in the numbers, this is the role for you.
What You'll Be Doing
-
Coaching and developing Restaurant Managers to build their capability, confidence, and commercial acumen
- Monitoring and analysing restaurant P&Ls on a weekly and monthly basis to identify opportunities and drive profitability
- Supporting Restaurant Managers to control labour costs, improve COGS, and meet performance targets
- Conducting regular restaurant visits, audits, and creating actionable improvement plans
- Ensuring brand standards, food safety, WHS, and operational compliance are met consistently across all sites
- Driving a guest-first culture across your portfolio, embedding the EJ Way in everything your teams do
- Leading new restaurant opening coordination including recruitment, onboarding, training, and handover
- Identifying future leaders across the network and connecting them to El Jannah's career development programs
- Collaborating with L&D, HR, Marketing, and Procurement to deliver seamless support across your restaurants
- Contributing to reporting and analysis that informs operational decisions across the broader Operations team
What We're Looking For
-
5+ years in a progressive leadership role within QSR, hospitality, or retail
- Proven experience reviewing and acting on P&L data to drive restaurant or retail performance
- Experience leading or supporting multi-site teams and new store openings
- Previous franchising or corporate restaurant network experience strongly preferred
- A natural coach who develops people with clarity, consistency, and genuine investment in their growth
- Strong understanding of operational KPIs including labour, COGS, compliance, and guest experience
- Excellent communicator who builds trusted relationships across all levels of the business
- Commercially minded, outcome-focused, and comfortable holding teams accountable
- Someone who gets energy from being in restaurants, not behind a desk
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly
- Bachelor of Business or Diploma preferred, though not essential depending on experience
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment desirable but not essential
