Situated in Barmera, we have immediate vacancies for a Welder. Mars Transport Equipment is a specialist in the Manufacturing and Light to Heavy Fabrication Industries. We are seeking an experienced trade qualified welders to join a dynamic team.
Position Details:
- 38 hours per week, full time position
- overtime is generally available
- all applications will be handled in confidence
- Fabrication and repairs to aluminium & steel semi trailers using various welding techniques
- selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
- Fabricate from drawings & verbal instructions trailer components & road transport equipment.
- Fit out and finish of equipment to required specifications.
- Test and ensure all equipment meets roadworthy requirements and company quality control measures.
Skills and Experience
To be eligible for this role, applicants must:
- have AQF III as a Welder (1st class) or equivalent experience
- minimum 3 years’ experience
- have knowledge in using MMAW, GMAW and FCAW welding processes
- experience in welding structural steel and aluminium
- have ability to work with a range of metal types and thicknesses
- Be competent in the reading of engineering drawings and have a good knowledge and understanding of welding symbols
- forklift licence is an advantage
- have a strong adherence OH&S and in keeping as safe workplace
- self-motivated and able to work independently as required
Remuneration
$75,000 - $80,000 a year (Negotiable and Dependent on Skills and Experience)
