About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our VIC team and support the safe delivery of civil and water infrastructure projects across Melbourne and Greater Melbourne.
Working closely with Project Managers, this position provides practical safety leadership and guidance to ensure compliance with WHS legislation and company standards. Key activities include reviewing WHS plans and emergency response plans, monitoring compliance, conducting audits and inspections, and supporting site inductions and training. You’ll also verify subcontractor documentation, assist with incident investigations, and help identify corrective actions and lessons learned.
The focus is on proactive engagement, identifying risks early and driving continuous improvement to maintain a strong safety culture where everyone takes ownership.
What You Will Bring
Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor on civil or water infrastructure projects
A hands-on, boots-on-the-ground approach to safety leadership
Experience conducting site safety audits and inspections and supporting close-out of corrective actions
Strong understanding of WHS legislation, systems and processes
Ability to lead site inspections, conduct risk assessments and facilitate toolbox talks
Certificate IV (minimum) or Diploma in Work Health and Safety
Current White Card and valid driver’s licence
Strong communication skills and confidence to engage effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
