Position: General Manager – ANZ & Pacific Islands

About the position
As General Manager – ANZ & Pacific Islands, you will have full accountability for the performance, growth, and long-term success of Flora Food Group across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.
Reporting to the President, Emerging Markets, this is a highly visible executive leadership role with responsibility for defining and executing the regional strategy, delivering commercial and financial performance, and building a high-performing organisation aligned to Flora Food Group's values and ambitions.
You will lead the business across retail, foodservice, and distributor-led channels, bringing together commercial, marketing, finance, supply chain, people, and operational teams behind a common vision and shared objectives. In addition, you will act as the senior representative of Flora Food Group within the region, building strategic relationships with customers, distributors, industry bodies, and external stakeholders.
This role combines strategic leadership, full P&L ownership, organisational leadership, and market development — requiring an executive who can balance long-term vision with operational excellence and execution.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Define and execute the ANZ & Pacific Islands growth strategy, ensuring alignment with regional and global priorities.
- Identify and unlock growth opportunities across retail, foodservice, and emerging channels.
- Lead expansion initiatives across distributor-led markets within the Pacific Islands.
- Develop and communicate long-term plans that drive sustainable and profitable growth.
Financial & Commercial Leadership
- Own full regional P&L accountability, including revenue, gross profit, EBIT, cash flow, and market share performance.
- Drive commercial performance through pricing, volume, mix, distribution, and channel optimisation.
- Lead key customer and distributor partnerships, ensuring strong commercial outcomes.
- Oversee business performance reporting, forecasting, and regional business reviews.
Leadership & Organisational Development
- Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing and diverse team.
- Build a culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Develop organisational capability and succession plans across the region.
- Foster a strong one-team mindset across all functions.
Customer & Partner Engagement
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with major customers, distributors, and industry partners.
- Represent Flora Food Group externally across the ANZ and Pacific region.
- Strengthen distributor partnerships to accelerate market penetration and expansion.
- Enhance the reputation and market position of Flora Food Group within the region.
Governance, Operations & Risk
- Act as Flora Food Group's local director and ensure effective governance, compliance, and risk management.
- Drive operational excellence across commercial and support functions.
- Ensure adherence to global policies, standards, and business practices.
- Lead business continuity planning and risk mitigation initiatives.
Global Alignment
- Serve as the key link between regional execution and global leadership teams.
- Translate global priorities into actionable regional plans.
- Influence international stakeholders and contribute to broader business strategy discussions.
- Ensure alignment with Flora Food Group values, priorities, and growth ambitions.
What Does It Take to Be Successful?
We're looking for a proven executive leader who combines strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and strong people leadership with a passion for building businesses and delivering results.
Experience & Expertise
- Proven experience as a General Manager, Managing Director, Country Manager, or equivalent senior leadership role.
- Strong FMCG background, ideally within retail, grocery, or food-related categories.
- Experience leading businesses within multinational and matrix organisations.
- Experience managing distributor networks and third-party partnerships.
- Private equity-backed business experience is advantageous but not essential.
Commercial & Strategic Leadership
- Demonstrated experience owning and delivering a full business P&L.
- Strong track record of delivering sustainable growth and market expansion.
- Ability to balance long-term strategic planning with operational execution.
- Excellent commercial judgement and decision-making capability.
