About the Role
The Principal Advisor is a senior specialist role within the Strategic and Executive Command, providing authoritative, high-level advice and coordination to support executive decision-making across Custodial Operations.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role provides specialist advice on workforce and employment matters affecting Custodial Operations' senior leadership cohort. The Principal Advisor supports the Deputy Commissioner, senior executives and the Strategic and Executive Command by ensuring workforce-related advice is comprehensive, coordinated, and aligned to strategic priorities, operational requirements and leadership continuity.
The Principal Advisor operates as a trusted subject-matter expert, exercising professional judgement, influence and discretion to support executive leadership and strengthen workforce planning and decision-making across Custodial Operations. Over time, the role is expected to develop an increasing understanding of custodial facility establishments, including associated governance frameworks, decision making pathways and executive assurance requirements, to further strengthen the quality and relevance of advice provided to senior leaders.
