Qualification: Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood), Master of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent.
Experience, Qualifications and Training
- Relevant qualifications in accordance with Education and Care Services National Regulations.
- Current first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma training with certification.
- Current Child Protection Training
- Current Working with Children Check
- Knowledge of current Education and Care Services National Regulations.
- Appropriate skills, knowledge and training in food safety and hygiene as required under the Food Safety Legislation.
- Commitment to further study to extend understanding of Early Childhood Education
Position Objectives
- To implement programmes which enable the centre to meet the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011, the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the requirements of the NSW Department of Education.
- Demonstrate a high standard of literacy and written communication skills for documenting observations and programming.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate with parents and children and educators effectively, ensuring interactions are supportive of centre's philosophy, Code of Conduct, National Quality Standards Areas 5 and 6, and Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics.
- To contribute to children's learning journals through high quality formal observations.
- Have an in-depth understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards.
- Mentor colleagues in effective room routines, structures and learning environments and develop reflective practice discussions supporting the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Building trusting relationships with parents and families, talking about the educational program.
- Working with other early childhood professionals for example maternal and child health nurses and early childhood intervention specialists.
- Surrounding Primary Schools to assist with Transitions to School or Kindergarten aged children.
- Support Educators in building inclusive learning environments, respecting cultural traditions and diversity.
- Assisting with developing an effective process for documenting children's learning and incorporating Playground to inform curriculum decision making and ensure there is a continuity of learning
- Demonstrate effective leadership, interpersonal and supervisory skills.
- Ability to work within budgets, and maintain resources in rooms and throughout the Centre.
- Ability to deal calmly and effectively with a number of urgent matters at once.
Pay: $85,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
