Honour Care is a growing disability support provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred supports. We are currently seeking a reliable and practical Support Worker who can also assist with gardening, basic home maintenance, and minor repairs for an NDIS participant.
About the Role
We are seeking a practical, reliable, and experienced Support Worker with strong gardening, handyman, and home maintenance skills to provide ongoing support to an NDIS participant.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working both indoors and outdoors and is confident completing general property maintenance tasks while supporting a participant in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional home environment.
The successful candidate should be able to work regular weekly shifts and be capable of independently carrying out tasks such as:
- Gardening, including mowing, trimming, weeding, pruning, and general yard maintenance
- General home maintenance and minor household repairs
- Basic handyman tasks such as assembling furniture, replacing light bulbs, tightening fittings, hanging shelves or pictures, and repairing small household items
- Assisting with organising and maintaining the participant's home and outdoor areas
- Supporting the participant to participate in gardening and home maintenance activities where appropriate
- Providing person-centred support while encouraging independence and maintaining professional boundaries
Essential Requirements
- Experience as a Disability Support Worker or similar
- Experience with gardening and basic handyman/home maintenance work
- Able to safely use common gardening and hand tools
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
- Good communication skills
- Respectful of participants' choices and privacy
Mandatory Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Current Blue Card (or willingness to obtain if required)
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Reliable vehicle
- Right to work in Australia
Preferred
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or Community Services
- Previous experience supporting NDIS participants
- Trade, maintenance or landscaping experience (highly regarded)
