Based at our Fisherman Island Terminal, the Health, Safety, Security and Environment Advisorprovides in-field support to leaders in achieving HSSE goals, working alongside the HSSE Manager on delivering safety initiatives. The role focuses on coaching and mentoring workers to a high safety standard, while providing sound HSSE advice and actively promoting a positive safety culture
Key Accountabilities

Positively influence and advise leaders and workers on health and safety matters, requirements under WHS legislation, and promote the agenda for positive health and safety change in the workplace.

Assist in the planning and facilitation of risk management processes such as Risk Assessments, JSEAs, Audits, Workplace Inspections and S&E Interactions.

Maintain and update GHSE system

Provide advice, consultation, monitoring and governance for compliance, to support stakeholders and ensure all relevant WH&S legislation, policies and procedures are implemented and effective

Assist with allocated site visits, inspections & incident investigations.

Report projected training requirements to the Safety and Training Superintendent

Coordinate and assist the delivery of training packages to employees and contractors ensuring consistency of training and compliance with RTO and legislative requirements.

Review and monitor weekly and monthly incident investigation trending data

Develop and maintain interdepartmental relationships to ensure, engineering and operational training needs are met.

Liaise with frontline workers with safety interactions and onsite inspections to ensure all safety processes are implemented
Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Current Cert IV Training and assessment
-
Cert IV in Training and Assessment (Desirable)

ICAM Lead Investigator Training (or above)

Certification in Auditing (Desirable)

A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role within an industrial environment

Experience in workplace communication and consultation

Knowledge of relevant jurisdictional Occupational Health Safety & Environment Acts and Dangerous Goods Regulations

Ability to identify, analyse and problem solve

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite

Ability to manage and prioritise a challenging workload
