We are seeking a highly organised and service-oriented Library Technician & Administration Support professional to join our team in a unique and rewarding dual-role position supporting both our Library and Junior School Administration teams.
About the Role
This part-time position combines contemporary library services with front-of-house administration support, offering a varied and engaging work environment. You will play an important role in creating welcoming, resource-rich learning spaces while also supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the Junior School reception and student wellbeing areas.
Working collaboratively with students, teachers, professional services staff and families, you will contribute to a culture that values learning, service excellence and community connection.
Key Responsibilities Library Services-
Manage daily library operations and circulation services.

Undertake cataloguing and processing of library resources.

Support the administration and maintenance of library management systems.

Assist students and staff to access resources, information and technology.

Curate engaging library displays and promotions.

Coordinate and support reading initiatives, Book Week activities, author visits, book clubs and literary events.

Assist with stocktake activities and resource collection management.

Contribute to the creation of digital learning resources and online content.
Administration & Reception Cover-
Provide reception break cover and administration assistance.

Welcome visitors, staff and students and provide exceptional front-line customer service.

Manage enquiries, phone calls and visitor sign-in processes.

Support student attendance and sign-in/sign-out procedures.

Assist with school events, functions and community activities.

Support sick bay operations and provide first aid assistance when required.
Essential Requirements-
Library qualification at Diploma level or higher (or equivalent).

Current First Aid qualification (Level 2 minimum).

Current Working with Children Check.

Strong administrative and organisational skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Demonstrated commitment to child safety and student wellbeing.
Desirable-
Experience using library management systems such as Softlink Oliver.

Previous experience in an independent school environment.

Experience with school databases including Synergetic and Schoolbox.
