What you will do as the Assistant Director People Connect
As the Assistant Director, People Connect will play a key role in managing the uptake and effective use of ServiceNow across People Branch. The role will focus on embedding consistent ways of working, improving system knowledge and confidence, using data to inform service delivery and ensuring the system continues to support branch priorities and a positive employee experience.
Working under broad direction, you will exercise a considerable degree of independence in leading a strategically important function within People Branch. Your role will involve recruiting, coaching, mentoring and managing the performance of a team of APS employees. It will also include strengthening stakeholder relationships, driving adoption of ServiceNow, improving the quality and use of service data, and embedding continuous improvement practices across the People Connect function. You will:
- Set strategic priorities for People Connect, aligning team priorities with broader branch and agency objectives.
- Lead and manage a high performing team, maintaining team cohesion, and ensuring quality of outputs.
- Establish and manage relationships with stakeholders across the branch and agency to support effective ServiceNow use and improved service outcomes.
- Lead activities that build uptake, confidence and capability in ServiceNow, including process improvement, user guidance, branch engagement and change support.
- Maintain and improve tiered support models for people-related queries, ensuring service excellence and compliance with legislative and policy frameworks, government decision-making processes and agency guidelines and regulations.
- Use ServiceNow data and reporting to identify trends, monitor service performance, improve data quality and support evidence-based decision making across People Branch.
About you
In order to succeed in the role, you will have:
- demonstrated experience scoping, planning and implementing new or changes to the ServiceNow platform.
- extensive experience leading teams in a complex, high pressure HR service centre operating environment and demonstrated high levels of resilience, in an APS or similar environment.
- relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, AHRI accreditation and minimum 10 years HR generalist experience.
- a proven track record of developing and maintaining process documentation to support training, development and knowledge management of business processes.
- demonstrated experience managing and building capability in others by modelling positive behaviours, providing a professional and harmonious working environment, coaching, giving performance feedback, resolving conflict and facilitating career development.
- extensive experience engaging with stakeholders and managing complex projects or problems.
- demonstrated ability to contribute to large scale change initiatives.
