We are seeking passionate and experienced Casual Early Years Educators to join our dynamic teams across Hume City.
As a valued member of Hume City Council’s Casual Early Years Pool, you will provide high-quality education and care across our Preschool and Long Day Care services. Your role is essential in maintaining continuity, supporting service teams and contributing to the delivery of high-quality educational programs.
You will bring flexibility, professionalism and a collaborative approach to each service you work in, while helping to create safe, inclusive and engaging environments where children can learn, grow and thrive.
What you’ll be doing:

Support the delivery of play-based learning programs that reflect the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and align with the National Quality Standard (NQS).

Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all children and families.

Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues, promoting a sense of belonging and trust.

Support the implementation of daily routines and educational experiences that encourage children’s curiosity, independence and participation.

Contribute to the observation and documentation of children’s learning and development, as appropriate to your role.

Uphold and follow all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, including child safety and workplace health and safety practices.

Work collaboratively with team members to provide consistent, high-quality education and care.

Engage in reflective practice and demonstrate a commitment to professional learning and continuous improvement.

Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability when working across different services, programs and teams.
The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring:

A passion for early childhood education and supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing.

Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Framework and Child Safe Standards.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

A collaborative and team-focused approach, with a willingness to learn and support others.

Initiative and reliability, with the ability to follow direction and contribute positively to the service environment.

Flexibility to work across a range of Early Years services and a willingness to work a variety of shifts between 6:30 am and 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday, across multiple Hume City Council Early Years services as required.
Required Certifications & Qualifications

Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification.

Experience working in Preschool and/or Long Day Care settings.

Sound knowledge of the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme.

Current Working with Children Check.
-
Current Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting certification.

Current Anaphylaxis Management training.
-
Current Emergency Asthma Management training.
-
Current CPR certification.
-
Current Mandatory Reporting training.
-
Completion of the National Child Safety Training – Foundation course.
