Australian Multicultural Community Centre Foundation Limited (AMCCF) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting social inclusion, wellbeing, and community participation among culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. Through innovative programs, partnerships, and community initiatives, AMCCF supports children, families, carers, older persons, and newly arrived communities to build connections, access services, and improve their overall wellbeing.
The Multicultural Story Time Program aims to foster early childhood development, language learning, cultural identity, and social connectedness by delivering engaging and culturally meaningful storytelling experiences for young children and their families.
The Role
This is a casual / sessional engagement. Sessions are delivered during Victorian school terms. From July to August: weekly 4-hour engagement (2 hours storytelling/facilitation and 2 hours preparation and administration). For the remaining project period: weekly 2-hour storytelling sessions. Additional hours may be offered subject to community events, organisational requirements, and funding availability. Location: Hume, Victoria. Reports to the Program Coordinator and/or Director.
Position Purpose
The Arabic Storyteller / Group Facilitator is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, culturally rich storytelling sessions for children aged 3-5 years participating in the Multicultural Story Time Program. The position plays an important role in supporting children's language development, imagination, creativity, and social interaction through storytelling, songs, games, and play-based learning activities. The facilitator will work collaboratively with AMCCF staff and volunteers to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for children and families from diverse backgrounds.
Pay: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour
