About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manager Breach Management to join our Group Compliance team. This subject matter expert role reports to the Senior Manager Breach Management and is pivotal in supporting the end-to-end breach assessment, governance, and reporting framework across Auto & General.
You will leverage deep expertise in compliance and breach management, strong stakeholder relationships, and data-driven insights to ensure potential breaches are assessed, escalated, and reported in accordance with applicable regulatory obligations and internal governance. You will play a critical role in building subject matter expertise in breach management and delivering practical, risk-based compliance solutions that protect our organisation and customers.

What you'll be doing
As our Manager Breach Management, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring compliance excellence and breach governance across the organisation. You'll provide expert advice, lead critical assessments, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our breach management processes. Your key accountabilities will include:

Supporting the coordination and administration of breach governance forums, including preparation of submissions, agendas, and supporting materials; documenting outcomes, decisions, and actions.

Conducting comprehensive breach assessments of incidents, including analysis against relevant regulatory obligations, codes, and internal policies.

Assisting in the preparation and submission of regulatory notifications and reporting in line with required timeframes and regulatory expectations.

Providing timely and practical compliance advice on breach management and reporting obligations to business stakeholders.

Supporting Line 2 review and challenge of breach determinations and reporting decisions in collaboration with Group Risk and Legal.

Contributing to breach reporting and analysis, identifying trends, themes, and emerging risks across the organisation.

Supporting the delivery of training and awareness initiatives to uplift breach management capability and promote disciplined practices across the Group.

Assisting in the continuous improvement of breach management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
What experience you'll bring
To thrive in this critical role, you'll need expertise in compliance, combined with practical experience in a regulated environment. You'll also bring:

3–5 years' experience in insurance, compliance, risk, or legal roles within a financial services environment (banking, superannuation, or insurance).

Working knowledge of regulatory obligations relevant to general insurance and demonstrated experience supporting breach assessments or regulatory reporting activities.

Strong expertise in executive paper writing and comprehensive compliance knowledge with in-depth familiarity with relevant legislation.

Experience in breach management, incident management, or regulatory roles - experience in at least one of these areas is essential.

A tertiary qualification in Law, Risk Management, Business, Compliance, or a related discipline (preferred).

Professional qualifications or memberships in Compliance, Risk, Legal, or Audit bodies are advantageous.
