Experienced Disability Support Worker – Penrith NSW & Surrounding Areas
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team, supporting adult male and female participants across the Penrith- Blacktown NSW region, as well as children with disabilities on weekends and during school holidays.
This role requires a confident and capable professional who is comfortable delivering personal care and supporting individuals with a range of complex needs, including behaviours of concern.
Our services operate 24/7, and this position requires flexibility, including availability for afternoon, evening, weekend, school holiday, and sleepover shifts. If you are looking for awake night shifts and no short shifts no need to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support to both adult and child participants in home and community settings
- Deliver personal care to adult male and female participants with dignity and respect
- Support children with disabilities during weekends and school holiday periods
- Support participants with complex needs, including challenging and aggressive behaviours
- Administer medications in line with training and organisational policies
- Support community access, appointments, and daily living activities
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes and incident reports
- Follow behaviour support plans and work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the disability support sector preferred
- Certificate III (or higher) in Community Services, Individual Support, or equivalent
- Current Medication Administration training
- Demonstrated experience supporting participants with complex behaviours, including aggression
- Experience supporting children and adults with disabilities
- Clear and effective English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid Working With Children Check (NSW)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable, NSW registered, and insured vehicle
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working in 24/7 support environments
- Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards and behaviour support frameworks
- Manual handling and high-care support experience
- Epilepsy and Midazolam (Midaz) training
- Diabetes Training

Pay: $36.41 – $40.79 per hour
