An opportunity is available to join the kitchen team at BMD Northcliffe Surf Club. We’re looking for a skilled and experienced chef who is confident working across all sections of the kitchen and comfortable with varied start and finish times. Strong experience in the wok section is highly favourable.

BMD Northcliffe Surf Club has built a reputation as one of the leading surf clubs in Australia. Our newly renovated venue features a relaxed, modern beach-house feel and caters to a wide range of guests.
The club includes a 300-seat bistro, a fully weatherproof outdoor deck ideal for events, a recently renovated bar, the Race One Sports Bar, and a premium gaming lounge with 45 machines.

About the Role
This is a casual position suited to a qualified chef with solid experience across all kitchen sections. Flexibility is key, as shifts will include mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
There are up to 30 hours per week available depending on the quality of the candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes to recipe and quality standards
- Maintain consistency in presentation and taste
- Assist with food prep and service coordination
- Keep a clean and organised workstation in line with food safety standards
- Ensure food is prepared and served at the correct temperature
- Monitor stock levels and replenish during service
- Support kitchen setup and pack-down
- Operate equipment safely and report any issues
- Work efficiently during busy service periods
- Collaborate with the team to meet service demands
- Follow portion control guidelines to minimise waste
- Maintain a positive, team-focused attitude
- Assist with general cleaning duties as required
- Follow direction from senior chefs and management
About You
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Commis Chef
- Wok experience highly regarded
- Strong ability to prioritise and work under pressure
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Adaptable and open to change
- Willing to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Positive team player who supports colleagues
- High attention to detail and presentation standards
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods
- Available to work nights, mornings, weekends, and school holidays

Pay: $35.15 – $70.30 per hour
