Surrounded by popular dining, entertainment and tourism attractions, the hotel is a key part of Darwin's vibrant Waterfront precinct.
About the Opportunity
You will be the go-to person for operational support, guest resolution, team leadership and business performance, while acting as the General Manager's trusted second-in-command.
This is a true all-rounder role where you'll balance strategic leadership with operational involvement, helping to drive guest satisfaction, team engagement, safety compliance and commercial success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, smooth departmental performance, and high presentation standards across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Conferencing.
- Drive commercial success through budgeting, forecasting, labour management, revenue optimisation, performance analysis, and financial controls including debtors, audits and purchasing.
- Foster a high-performing team culture by recruiting, coaching and developing team members, conducting performance reviews, and leading employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
- Act as the General Manager's second-in-command, providing hands-on operational support, managing guest feedback and resolving issues quickly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with all WHS, food safety, risk management and hotel operating standards, maintaining a strong safety-first culture for guests and team members.
- Support strategic business objectives through workforce planning, capital improvement projects, revenue initiatives and continuous operational improvement across the hotel.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years' experience in a hotel leadership position
- Strong operational experience across Rooms Division, Food & Beverage and Conference & Events (full service hotel)
- Proven success leading teams and building positive workplace cultures
- Excellent commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, labour costs and business performance
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
- A hands-on, adaptable leadership style
- The ability to remain calm and solutions-focused in a dynamic environment
