This role is full time casual with potential to go permanent.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Estimator to support our estimating and quoting function across residential kitchen and bathroom projects. This role is responsible for preparing accurate product-based quotes by reviewing architectural plans, specifications, and schedules, and coordinating fixture selections across multiple stakeholders including builders, designers, and internal sales teams.
This is an ideal role for someone early in their construction or estimating career who is confident reading plans and wants to develop strong technical and commercial skills in the building industry.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Quoting
- Prepare accurate quotes for kitchen and bathroom fixtures, including tapware, sinks, accessories, vanities, baths, and related products
- Interpret architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, and joinery layouts to identify required fixtures and quantities
- Review specifications, schedules, and tender documents to ensure quotes align with project requirements
- Ensure pricing accuracy, correct product selection, and margin compliance
Plans & Documentation
- Read and understand residential house plans, including wet area layouts and service locations
- Cross-check plans against client selections and builder specifications
- Identify missing information, discrepancies, or potential issues and escalate where required
Coordination & Support
- Liaise with internal sales, customer service, and procurement teams to confirm product availability and lead times
- Assist with revisions to quotes due to plan changes, substitutions, or value engineering
- Support builders, designers, and internal staff with technical product queries related to estimating
Systems & Administration
- Maintain organised quote records and supporting documentation
- Use internal systems (ERP / quoting tools / spreadsheets) to prepare and track estimates
- Assist with continuous improvement of estimating templates and processes
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Ability to read and interpret residential house plans
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of construction terminology, particularly kitchens and bathrooms
- Confidence working with measurements, quantities, and specifications
- Proficiency with Excel or similar estimating tools
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Desirable
- Previous experience in estimating, drafting, building supply, or construction-related roles
- Familiarity with kitchen, bathroom, or fixture products
- Experience working with builders, architects, or interior designers
