Primary objective
To provide high quality reception and administrative services to clients and staff of the Flynn Drive Dental Centre, remote
clinics and school based dental clinics.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide a comprehensive frontline and administrative service to a high standard which assists in the facilitation of
efficient and effective oral health service delivery.
2. Provide client focussed appointment scheduling including follow-up appointments for remote outreach services.
3. Manage paper and electronic client records including but not limited to the reconciliation of the Children’s Dental Benefit
Schedule payments and fee for service clients.
4. Actively participate in quality improvement activities and staff development programs.
5. Undertake all general office administration duties including minute taking, filing and preparation of correspondence.
6. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated reception/administration experience providing excellent customer service in a client focused
environment.
2. Proven ability to concurrently co-ordinate a range of tasks, determine work priorities, meet stringent deadlines and work
under pressure.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
4. Highly developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to organise and establish work priorities on a
daily basis.
5. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and use sound judgement, tact and discretion in dealing with
clients.
6. A high level of computing skills with proficiency in a range of relevant computer applications, particularly Microsoft
office suite, including records management systems and mainframe databases.
7. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures; in particular have experience working with
Aboriginal clients.
