Job Summary
The E-Commerce Specialist is responsible for managing and optimising online sales channels, digital storefronts, product listings, customer experiences, and e-commerce campaigns. The role works closely with marketing, sales, product, logistics, and technology teams to increase online revenue, improve customer engagement, and optimise overall e-commerce performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the company’s e-commerce website and online stores.
- Create, update, and optimise product listings, descriptions, images, pricing, and product information.
- Monitor website functionality, product availability, inventory, pricing, and promotions.
- Develop and implement e-commerce strategies to increase sales and customer conversion.
- Plan and execute online promotional campaigns, product launches, discounts, and seasonal campaigns.
- Manage e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, or similar systems.
- Monitor website traffic, conversion rates, average order value, customer acquisition, and online revenue.
- Analyse customer behaviour and sales data to identify growth opportunities.
- Implement SEO strategies to improve product visibility and organic search performance.
- Coordinate with digital marketing teams on Google Ads, social media advertising, email marketing, and retargeting campaigns.
- Conduct A/B testing and optimise product pages, landing pages, checkout processes, and customer journeys.
- Ensure accurate product pricing, stock information, promotions, and website content.
- Coordinate with logistics and fulfilment teams to ensure efficient order processing and delivery.
- Monitor customer feedback, reviews, returns, and online service issues.
- Work with developers and technical teams to resolve website and platform issues.
- Prepare regular e-commerce performance reports and provide recommendations to management.
- Monitor competitors, market trends, pricing strategies, and emerging e-commerce technologies.
- Ensure online stores comply with relevant Australian consumer, privacy, and e-commerce requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, E-Commerce, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in e-commerce, digital retail, online merchandising, or a similar role.
- Experience managing e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, or BigCommerce.
- Strong understanding of online sales, digital marketing, SEO, and conversion optimisation.
- Experience with website analytics and reporting tools.
- Strong Excel and data-analysis skills.
- Knowledge of online payment systems, fulfilment processes, and customer journeys.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns, products, and priorities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Shopify Plus, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media advertising.
- Experience with product information management (PIM) systems.
- Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platforms.
- Experience with A/B testing and conversion-rate optimisation (CRO).
- Knowledge of Australian online retail trends and consumer behaviour.
- Understanding of Australian Consumer Law, privacy requirements, and online sales regulations.
- Experience working with Australian retailers or e-commerce businesses.
- Australian work rights or an appropriate Australian work visa.
