Details: The School Leader C (SLC) is a key member of the Aranda Primary School leadership team and contributes to the strategic, educational and operational leadership of the school.
The successful applicant will lead a teaching team, support the implementation of school improvement priorities and work collaboratively with staff to improve outcomes for students. They will play an important role in strengthening teaching practice through coaching, mentoring, professional learning and collaborative inquiry processes.
The School Leader C will lead and support Professional Learning Teams (PLTs), contribute to the ongoing development of a restorative and relational school culture, and work closely with the Principal and Deputy Principal to ensure the effective operation of the school.
A key aspect of the role will be leading the school's implementation of Strong Foundations, ensuring evidence-informed approaches to literacy, numeracy and teaching practice are embedded consistently across the school and aligned with the ACT Education Directorate's Future of Education Strategy.
As an instructional leader, the School Leader C will maintain a teaching load appropriate to the role and model high-quality classroom practice. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to student learning, staff development and continuous improvement while balancing strategic leadership responsibilities with day-to-day operational requirements.
Job Description:

Lead a teaching team and support staff to improve student learning, wellbeing and engagement.

Maintain a teaching load appropriate to the role and model high-quality classroom practice.

Lead Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) and collaborative inquiry processes to build staff capability and improve student outcomes.

Lead the implementation of Strong Foundations and support evidence-informed approaches to teaching and learning.

Contribute to the development of a restorative and relational school culture that promotes belonging, accountability and positive relationships.

Use student achievement, wellbeing and engagement data to inform decision-making and school improvement efforts.

Work collaboratively as a member of the school leadership team to support the strategic direction of the school.

Build and maintain positive partnerships with students, staff, families and the wider community.

Support the effective day-to-day operation of the school, including oversight of casual staffing and daily organisation processes.

Undertake other leadership, educational and operational responsibilities consistent with the role of School Leader C.
Eligibility/Other requirements:
- A minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification.
Mandatory:
- Current professional teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (or eligibility for teacher registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute).
