About the Facility
Roshana Lysterfield Aged Care is a 50-bed welcoming residential aged care home providing high-quality, person-centred care in a warm, inclusive and supportive environment. The home offers comfortable accommodation, communal living spaces, beautifully maintained gardens and outdoor areas designed to promote wellbeing, dignity and meaningful social connection for residents.
We are looking for a Chef Manager to join our aged care team at Roshana Lysterfield Aged Care, in a (full‑time) capacity.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef Manager to lead our kitchen operations within a residential aged care facility. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals while managing kitchen staff, operations, and compliance standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a qualified chef who enjoys both cooking and leading a team in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead and manage all kitchen operations, including meal preparation and service
- Develop and implement nutritious, seasonal, and resident-focused menus
- Ensure meals meet dietary, allergy, and texture-modified requirements
- Supervise, train, and support kitchen staff including cooks and kitchen hands
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards at all times
- Manage stock control, ordering, budgeting, and supplier relationships
- Ensure efficient kitchen workflow and high-quality meal presentation
- Engage with residents and care staff to support satisfaction and feedback
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment
What You Will Bring
- Qualified Chef (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role (aged care preferred)
- Food Safety Certificate
- Strong understanding of dietary requirements in aged care settings
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and HACCP standards
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Passion for delivering high-quality meals that enhance resident wellbeing
- A National Police Clearance or NDIS Screening Check, or willingness to obtain this
