Position Title: Dental Therapist/Hygienist

About the Role
We are a newly established and growing dental practice seeking a motivated and compassionate Dental Therapist to join our team. This role offers a unique blend of general practice dentistry and mobile special needs services, providing care to patients who may have limited access to traditional clinic settings.
The position requires flexibility, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping people maintain and improve their oral health.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality preventive and restorative dental care within scope of practice
- Deliver oral health education and promote long-term oral hygiene habits
- Manage and treat paediatric and adult patients
- Participate in mobile dental services, including visiting community settings and patients with special needs
- Work collaboratively with dentists and the broader clinical team to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical records
- Adhere to infection control protocols and professional standards
- Support patient-centred care with a focus on empathy, communication, and trust
Mobile & Special Needs Services
- Deliver care in non-traditional environments (e.g. community centres, aged care facilities, home visits where applicable)
- Adapt clinical approach to suit patients with physical, cognitive, or behavioural challenges
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive experience for all patients
About You
Must be available on Fridays
- Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Holds appropriate qualifications as a Dental Therapist/Hygienist in Australia
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Flexible and willing to work across clinic and mobile settings
- Valid driver’s licence (preferred for mobile services)
Desirable Attributes
- Experience working with special needs patients or in community dental services
- Interest in preventive dentistry and public health
- Ability to adapt to a growing and evolving practice environment
