Norwest Private Hospital is located in the rapidly developing North West corridor of Sydney and is operated by Healthscope, a leading provider of private healthcare in Australia. The hospital has 277 beds and is a high acuity facility with an Emergency Department located in Sydney’s Bella Vista.
The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate leader to step into the Nurse Unit Manager role within our Day Infusion Unit.
You will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping the future of oncology and infusion services, driving continuous improvement, and building a high-performing, close-knit team with a strong culture of excellence, collaboration, and compassionate care.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Lead all aspects of patient care with a strong focus on evidence-based practice and clinical excellence
Build and sustain a collaborative, engaged, and supportive team culture
Support and mentor team members, with a focus on developing senior staff and emerging leaders
Drive and embed continuous improvement, innovation, and quality initiatives
Lead and support the rollout of new projects and service developments across the unit
Ensure high standards in safe clinical practice, patient experience, and operational performance
Strengthen interdisciplinary relationships with VMOs and allied health teams
Foster a proactive learning environment that encourages ongoing professional development
Ensure workforce, financial performance, and resource utilisation effectively
Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards
The Department:
The Day Infusion Unit provides specialist care for patients undergoing cancer treatment and infusion therapies.

About You
You are a highly capable and engaging leader who brings both clinical expertise and strong people leadership. You thrive in a team oriented environment and are passionate about building a culture where both patients and staff feel supported and valued.
Essential Qualities:

Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration

Post graduate qualification in Oncology Nursing or equivalent

5 years post registration experience and able to demonstrate expert clinical practice

Demonstrated leadership experience, ideally within a similar clinical setting

Proven ability to lead, engage, and develop teams, including senior clinicians

Strong commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams
