Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Director, Education Development, and working in a leadership capacity, this role is critical in leading College initiatives relating to CPD activities and CPD Home accreditation compliance. The
primary focus of the role is to ensure that educational activities and learning resources are aligned with the CPD standards and national regulatory requirements. The role has line management responsibilities.
Please note, this is a full time, fixed term role for 2 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that RANZCOG CPD home provides structured, high-quality framework for the ongoing education and professional development of obstetricians and gynaecologists, aligned with regulatory requirements set by the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) standards, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Australian Medical Council (AMC), and Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) standards.
- Ensure compliance of RANZCOG’s CPD Home with relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements with AMC, AHPRA and MCNZ.
- Evaluate the needs of CPD participants to optimise CPD program opportunities and make recommendations.
- Develop project planning documents e.g. project roadmaps, stakeholder engagement, communication and evaluation plans.
- Oversee coordination tasks of the CPD committee. This involves ensuring timely preparation and dissemination of agendas and minutes, ensuring that follow up actions are completed efficiently, and support is provided to any sub-project groups associated with the CPD Committee as needed.
- Manage the CPD activity approval process for CPD hours allocation for internal and external courses in line with the CPD framework and RANZCOG education standards.
- Ensure that CPD activities are effective and appropriate offerings that serve the requirements of ongoing professional development needs of obstetricians, gynaecologists and other health professionals who choose RANZCOG as their CPD home.
- Support the CPD Support team in the yearly CPD overdue and audit process.
- Provide leadership and line management for direct report/s in the CPD Standards team.
- Liaise with other staff to ensure updates are operationalised and communicated as required.
Ko wai koe | About you - Key Selection Criteria
- A postgraduate qualification in Education and/or Healthcare or an equivalent combination of relevant training and/or work experience
- Experience in designing, delivering and coordinating education activities or equivalent experience in identifying, planning and implementing improvements to address changing educational requirements
with a particular focus on high standards of compliance.
- An understanding of the learning support needs of CPD participants and training programs (preferably postgraduate medical training) and demonstrated ability to design, develop and operationalise education
activities effectively.
- A strong interest in and the ability to grasp complex issues relating to medical education and women’s health.
- Demonstrated experience in management and/or the coordination of small teams to achieve quality outcomes in defined timeframes, preferably in a medical/educational environment.
- Experience in supporting committees including preparation of agenda and drafting minutes.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, particularly in regard to report writing, correspondence and presentations and the ability to effectively document work performed.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, individuals and groups, whilst maintaining positive relationships.
- Excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and complete tasks within strict timeframes.
- The ability to work without close supervision, as a member of a team; be enthusiastic and self-motivated; contribute ideas and collaborate in their implementation.
- Expertise in the use of Windows-based PC applications with emphasis on database, word processing and spreadsheet software (MS Word and Excel preferred).
