NT Swim School is looking for an experienced Sports Development Officer for an immediate start. This position is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week, based in Coconut Grove, NT.
They will be responsible for: Leading aquatic participation initiatives to strengthen community engagement and promote long-term involvement in swimming and water safety activities.
Planning and delivering swimming and aquatic development initiatives to increase community participation in swimming, aquatic activities, and water safety programs.
Developing and maintaining partnerships with schools, sporting organisations, and community groups to encourage inclusion and broaden community participation.
Coordinating school swimming and water safety initiatives in collaboration with local schools, community organisations, and stakeholders.
Implementing participant engagement and retention strategies to sustain participation in aquatic activities and development programs.
Designing and implementing structured learn-to-swim, squad development, and aquatic progression pathways supporting participants from beginner to competitive levels. Identifying talent development opportunities and supporting progression into advanced and competitive swimming pathways.
Coordinating aquatic events, competitions, and community engagement activities to increase program visibility and community involvement.
Coordinating the delivery and administration of swimming activities conducted by qualified instructors across multiple age groups and ability levels.
Monitoring participant outcomes, swimmer progression, and overall program effectiveness to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Managing program reporting, attendance records, participation data, and performance metrics for operational and strategic review.
Supporting the recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development of swim instructors and aquatic staff.
Promoting water safety awareness and best practices within the community.
Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS), NT aquatic safety regulations, child safety requirements, and organisational policies.
Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive aquatic environment for participants, staff, and community members.
For this position, it is expected that you would possess the following qualifications/work experience: Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Sports Development, Sport and Recreation, Physical Education, Business, Management, or a related field At least one year of relevant full-time work experience in sports development, aquatic operations, recreation coordination, or a related field Demonstrated experience coordinating sports, recreation, or community participation programs Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build relationships within the community Experience supervising, mentoring, or supporting staff and instructors Organisational, administrative, and reporting skills Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements and risk management practices within sporting or aquatic environments Current First Aid, Working with Children and CPR certification (preferred) Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment If you are interested in applying, please forward your resume to [email protected]
