In partnership with the Australian Defence Force, we are seeking an Airfield Support Officer to support the delivery of consistent, efficient, and compliant processes across Ventia’s airfield operations at RAAF Pearce. This is a shift work position and will require travel to support additional defence sites at times.
The Airfield Support Officer plays a vital role in the day-to-day delivery of aerodrome management and air terminal operations across designated Defence Estates. This position is responsible for carrying out operational tasks that maintain compliance with aviation regulations, ensure aerodrome safety, and support Defence capability.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Perform airfield sweeping during non-scheduled flying operations, between 20:00-04:00 Sunday – Thursday

Hold or willing to obtain and maintain a HV license to operate airfield sweeping vehicle

Sweep and Inspect airfield serviceability, all movement areas, markings, wind direction indicators, and perimeter fences

As requested, perform general aviation safety and duties, manage aerodrome lighting systems and organize and coordinate escort duties as required

Work with other Base Services Contractors to coordinate remediation efforts
About you
-
Experience in aerodrome operations or ground handling, desirable
-
Understanding of aviation safety regulations and compliance frameworks, desirable

Excellent coordination, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills

Willingness to undertake additional training and professional development provided by Ventia as required to ensure compliance with service delivery standards and operational requirements

Proficiency in operating ground support equipment and or a HV such as sweeping truck, desirable

Willing to commit to fulltime, late night, early morning shift work hours
Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police Check
