Workzone Traffic Control is seeking an experienced ICT Business Analyst to support the ongoing improvement of our business systems, digital workflows and operational processes.
You will consult with employees and managers to identify business needs, analyse existing systems and develop practical technology-based solutions.
This is a hands-on role within a busy operational environment. In addition to core ICT business analysis responsibilities, you will assist with system administration, data management, reporting and implementation support. The successful applicant must therefore be equally comfortable undertaking detailed analytical work and providing practical day-to-day support to system users.
Key responsibilities
- Consult with employees, managers and other stakeholders to identify and document business and system requirements.
- Analyse existing ICT systems, software applications, workflows and information-management practices.
- Identify system limitations, duplicated processes, data gaps and opportunities for automation or integration.
- Translate operational requirements into functional requirements, process specifications, user stories and recommended system solutions.
- Develop current-state and future-state process maps, workflows and system documentation.
- Evaluate available system functionality and recommend configuration changes, enhancements or new technology solutions.
- Work with software providers and internal stakeholders to scope, test and implement system improvements.
- Assist with the integration and effective use of operational, scheduling, finance, HR, training and compliance systems.
- Prepare business requirements documents, functional specifications, test plans, implementation plans and user guides.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing, document results and manage identified defects or required changes.
- Analyse system and operational data to identify trends, inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, management reports and data-quality controls.
- Monitor the performance and effectiveness of implemented solutions.
- Provide system support and guidance to users during implementation and ongoing operation.
- Assist with user access, system records, data entry standards, document control and system-related administration.
- Maintain project records, action registers, meeting notes and implementation documentation.
- Support continuous improvement projects from initial analysis through to implementation and review.
- Ensure ICT processes and system changes support operational, privacy, security and compliance requirements.
Systems and operational environment
The role will work across systems used for:
- Workforce scheduling and resource allocation
- Electronic timesheets and payroll information
- Financial management and job costing
- Customer and project management
- Human resources and employee records
- Training administration and regulatory compliance
- Document control and management reporting
- Fleet, asset and operational data
Experience with platforms such as Traffio, Monday.com, Xero, Employment Hero, learning management systems or similar business applications would be advantageous.

You are an analytical and highly organised professional who can understand how people, processes, data and technology work together.
You can communicate with employees who have varying levels of technical knowledge, turn operational problems into clearly documented requirements, and follow solutions through from analysis to implementation.
You will have:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in information technology, information systems, business analysis or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience as an ICT Business Analyst or in a comparable systems-analysis role.
- Experience gathering, analysing and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Experience reviewing business processes and recommending system-based improvements.
- Strong process-mapping and documentation skills.
- Experience with system configuration, implementation and user acceptance testing.
- Strong data-analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- The ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping practices.
- A practical approach and willingness to assist users with system-related administrative requirements.
Experience within traffic management, civil construction, logistics, workforce scheduling, vocational education or another operationally complex industry would be highly regarded.
Pay: $90,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
