About the role:
The Project Manager, Commercial Strategy leads the identification, development and delivery of priority commercial projects and EOI processes that drive revenue growth and long-term sustainability. The role manages projects end-to-end, from opportunity identification and market engagement through to evaluation, governance and executive recommendations. It requires strong commercial acumen, disciplined project delivery and effective stakeholder engagement across internal teams and external partners, including Traditional Owners. The position embeds environmental sustainability, cultural heritage considerations and responsible land management into commercial decision-making, while ensuring all opportunities are delivered with robust governance, probity and risk management to achieve transparent, value focused outcomes for the organisation.
About the Team
The Strategy, Planning and Programs Division comprises key centers of expertise that support the place-based management and operations in parks, reserves, and designated local ports and waterways within Parks Victoria's diverse estate.
We're looking for someone with:
- Extensive project management experience and relevant qualifications, with a proven track record delivering complex projects (scope, budget, timelines) and managing external consultants in government or similar environments.
- Strong knowledge of public land and infrastructure delivery, including environmental and cultural heritage legislation, planning frameworks, and maritime/waterways management in Victoria.
- Demonstrated skills in procurement, contract and financial management, with the ability to oversee budgets, reporting, and governance requirements.
- Proven stakeholder engagement capability, successfully working with diverse groups including Traditional Owners, Registered Aboriginal Parties, contractors, and community stakeholders.
